Envoy H. Tony Lewis
H. Tony Lewis was born, raised and still resides in West Philadelphia. He attended Overbrook High School and graduated in 1972. He attended Saint Augustine’s College (now University) in Raleigh, North Carolina. Where he received his Bachelor Science Degree in Physical Education and Health in 1976. He later attended Westminster Theological Seminary where he received his Master’s Degree in Missiology 1988. He has worked as Athletic Director and Program Director for the Nicetown Boys Club of America for many years and as E.M.T. (Emergency Medical Technician) on Ambulance, and 13 years at Pennsylvania Hospital as a Patient Care Technician. He was called by God into the ministry at the Salvation Army West Philadelphia Corps/Church as Envoy/Pastor/ Officer in Charge; where he and his wife (Envoy LaVerna Lewis) have served the West Philadelphia Community since 1999. Lives are radically being influenced, challenged and changed as they reached out to the last, the lost, and the least in The name of the Lord Jesus. Ministering to what they call the ESP (Emotional, Economically, Educationally, Environmentally, Spiritual, Social, Physical and Psychological) holistic areas of life. He and his wife will be celebrating their 44th anniversary this October 2, 2020. They have 3 adult Sons all married serving the Lord and 5 grandchildren. Envoy Tony Lewis (and his wife) just recently as of June 30, 2019 last year; have rewired into the next level of ministry in the Pastoral Care and Prison Ministry in The Salvation Army.
